Happy Easter

Tomorrow it will be Easter Sunday and I wanted to pop in and share some pictures from around our home with you...

We have been painting in the cottage today with apple greens and duck egg blues,we are making a few changes here and there and adding a little more colour to our home this Easter time...

We were hoping to be gardening but the weather forecast is not so good for this bank holiday weekend so we  are going to be busy inside and inbetween the showers we will pop out to plant some roses we have had delivered,it's so nice to start pottering about in the fresh air after the Winter ...

I picked some lilac branches and daffodils from the garden earlier to make our Easter tree in an old pitcher jug and decorated it with pastel coloured eggs, some glass, some decoupaged and some that look like real tiny eggs..

The little knitted chick above was made for me buy a lovely old lady called Rachel who would sing songs by 'The Seekers' to me,she was in her eighties when she proudly presented me with her handiwork and underneath is a hole that was filled  with a real chocolate egg,i always think of Rachel when I take my little yellow friend out of her wrapping for another Easter...

Some decorations were bought for us by my lovely Mum and some I bought on days out with my sister and some from a beautiful flower shop just up the road from where I used to work...I do love Spring time and all it's pastel colours don't you?

Happy Easter blessings from our home to yours, enjoy your weekend.

Will you join me next time for more tales and goings on from Shingle Cottage x

  2. What a joy as ever to see your lovely home and the Spring touches are wonderful too. Like you I am waiting for a dryer day or two as I have lots of little plants waiting to go in my garden but right now their little heads are blowing a bit and soaking wet but with luck they will be in the ground and happy soon. Thanks again for sharing. Mary

  4. Happy Easter. Your home looks very festive, ready for spring. We, too, would like to be in the garden; however, the weather has been crummy. We did get potatoes, peas, and onions planted last week before snow. Now they are nice a wet in their beds. They need sun to warm them up now. I'll bee anxious to see what you have done to the cottage. It will be amazing.

  8. Happy Easter to you as well. Your cottage is looking lovely and quaint, love the touches of yellow in the decor. It's been really cold this Easter and last night we had the most ferocious wind howling away, so I am hoping for warmer weather shortly. Have a lovely week. Sharon x
